Installation #57A
October 14, 2005 - October 23, 2005
Site: Pearl Street Gallery
57-A Pearl St.
Brooklyn, NY 11201

The sixth in the series of site-specific Window Installations, #57A featured 52 windows salvaged from a nineteenth-century Brooklyn machine shop, suspended from a custom framework mounted into a 14ft ceiling and arranged to envelope the viewer within a 700-sqft translucent environment. Preserved images culled from prior installations were mounted on select windowpanes and illuminated by the sun's ambient light. Additional preserved images mounted into custom light boxes as well as photographic prints were displayed on the surrounding walls. Before it's dismantling, photographic images of the Installation were taken over its brief exhibition, using the sun’s ambient light and gallery halogen lighting as source for illumination.
